BURLINGTON, MA -- Cognos Corporation (Nasdaq: COGN) announced that it had closed the acquisition of Celequest Corp. for an undisclosed amount on January 16. Cognos, which creates business intelligence and performance management software solutions, acquired Celequest's self-service dashboard creation software. The software is immediately interoperable with Cognos' version 8 BI software and allows the combined firm to offer access via Salesforce.com's AppExchange. As a result, the acquisition will allow Cognos to reach a new class of users for its products.
